DAY 1: ECO AMAZON IN

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Biodiversity Capital of Peru, we will meet you at the airport to begin our program. We will take a short guided bus tour of the city and then head to the Capitanía Port, where you will board our boat. We will navigate the Lower Madre de Dios River to our lodge, located 30 km from the city.

During the journey, you will be able to appreciate rural landscapes, heliconia plantations, and, weather permitting, local fauna such as capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, and birds of prey.

Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing Amazonian fruit nectar and shown to your comfortable bungalow. Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in our rustic dining room.

In the afternoon, our guide will take you along an interpretive trail to Cocha Caimán, a lagoon where you can spot black and white caimans, key predators of the ecosystem.

Upon your return, an exquisite dinner awaits, followed by free time to relax in our bar with board games and a wide selection of drinks. The serenity of the Amazonian night and the songs of the local wildlife will be the perfect end to your day.

DAY 02: ECO AMAZON

Dawn in the jungle begins with birdsong, heralding a day full of adventure. After a nutritious breakfast, we will venture into Cocha Perdida, a wetland ecosystem surrounded by dense vegetation. Accompanied by our guide, we will hike along well-maintained trails, crossing streams and discovering an amazing diversity of flora and fauna. With luck, we may spot mammals such as the jaguar, the tapir, or the giant otter, as well as primates, reptiles, and colorful birds.

In this unique habitat, dominated by palm swamps, we will learn about the importance of the aguaje palm, considered the tree of life, and its mythical guardians: the jaguar, the anaconda, the owl, and the black caiman. From an observation platform, we will appreciate the magnitude of this magical place and, if we are lucky, we may spot the majestic giant otter. Back at the lodge, we will enjoy a restorative lunch.

In the afternoon, you can optionally visit Monkey Island, a natural sanctuary inhabited by primates such as the spider monkey, the capuchin monkey, and the squirrel monkey, as well as coatis, squirrels, and various bird species.

The day will culminate with a spectacular sunset in the jungle and a delicious farewell dinner at the lodge.

DAY 3: ECO AMAZON OUT

After a restful sleep, the call of the howler monkey will mark the beginning of your last morning in the jungle. After breakfast at the hostel, we will begin our return to Puerto Maldonado.
