Day 1: Departure - Bologna

Arrival in Bologna by own means of transport, hotel accommodation and the start of the Gastronomic Walking Tour of Bologna with secret gastronomic tours.

The tour starts at exactly 11:00 a.m. We will send you the details of the meeting place before the tour day. Our culinary tour lasts 4 hours and each includes some walks, so be sure to bring comfortable shoes. Your guide will stay with you throughout the tour and you can make inquiries about special dietary needs such as any allergies or foods you prefer to avoid eating. Please note that we are not yet able to offer any gluten-free or vegan option. Let’s start the day with a traditional Italian breakfast, coffee and croissants.

After visiting one of the most beautiful squares of the city, Piazza S. Stefano, we will walk through the narrow medieval streets to go shopping at Parmigiano Reggiano.

Then, we will visit a new pasta shop for a demonstration of how traditional handmade pasta is created. After the demonstration, we try the best of the best.

Then we go to the city’s medieval food market, the Quadrilateral. In a traditional shop we try different types of balsamic vinegar from Modena from 12 to 50 years.

We will visit another shop to select some local cheeses and a sausage sampler.

Afterwards, we will stop in the oldest tavern in Bologna to enjoy our meal accompanied with a glass of the best local wine.

We walk through the main square of Bologna to end our tour with a sweet note, a traditional homemade ice cream.

Free dinner and return to the hotel for overnight.

Day 2: Bologna - Reggio Emilia

Breakfast at the hotel, check out and full day available for a free visit of the city. We recommend visiting the Sala del Tricolore and its Museum, which traces the historical facts with Napoleonic and Risorgimento relics, to continue in the overlooking Piazza Prampolini, better known as Piazza Grande, with the statue of the river Crostolo and, through the arcades of Broletto, reach the small Piazza San Prospero, home to the traditional market, and continue to Piazza Fontanesi, a real outdoor lounge surrounded by trees.
